UK Wholesale Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement

UK Wholesale upholds a firm zero-tolerance policy towards slavery and human trafficking in all its forms. We are fully committed to taking effective action to eradicate these practices and to ensure compliance with the provisions of the Modern Slavery Act 2015. This statement outlines the steps we have taken and our policies for the financial year ending 2024/2025.

We acknowledge that exploitation within supply chains is a serious issue and a significant societal concern. Therefore, we are committed to actively eliminating any form of exploitation from both our operations and the operations of our supply chain partners. We recognize the importance of cooperating with other businesses who have obligations under the Modern Slavery Act 2015 to meet their respective responsibilities.

As part of our commitment, we confirm that we have conducted a comprehensive review of our business operations and, where applicable, of the businesses within our supply chain. Based on this review, we are able to confirm the following:

No relevant offences related to slavery or human trafficking have been identified within our business.
We have carried out due diligence on businesses supplying us directly and are confident that they have not committed any relevant offences.
To the extent reasonably practicable, we have assessed our broader supply chain and found no evidence of slavery or human trafficking.
Business Overview

UK Wholesale is a leading wholesale distributor operating throughout the UK and Europe, specialising in fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), including household items and a variety of other consumer products. We employ 58 individuals in the UK. Our organisational structure comprises a Managing Director, supported by seven managers, to whom 51 employees report.

Supply Chain Overview

Our supply chain encompasses a broad spectrum of products, including toiletries, health and beauty items, pharmaceuticals, household cleaning products, cosmetics, and perfumes. We are aware that certain industry sectors and geographic regions may present a higher risk of exploitation. However, based on our risk assessment, we do not believe that our supply chain is significantly exposed to such risks.

Where possible, we ensure that our supply chain partners adhere to similar policies regarding slavery and human trafficking. We also actively encourage our employees to report any concerns related to these issues within our supply chain.

Training and Awareness

To increase awareness of the risks associated with modern slavery and human trafficking, we provide relevant training and information to our employees. The Modern Slavery Statement has been distributed to all department heads, and all employees involved in supplier relations are required to familiarise themselves with it. A copy of this statement is also made available to all employees.

Monitoring and Effectiveness

We will evaluate the effectiveness of our efforts to prevent slavery and human trafficking through the following key performance indicators (KPIs):

Documentation confirming that all employees have the legal right to work in the UK.
Records demonstrating that employees have received appropriate training.
Documentation verifying that suppliers comply with our Supplier Code of Conduct.
Modern Slavery remains a priority agenda item at our Board meetings, where we regularly review potential risks within our supply chain and consider any further actions required to address these risks.
